on empire, a poem
You have to laugh, or you’ll cry. A drunken climb - euphoric at the start, ending simply not the way you wanted it to. All that, just to be crowned with antlers and a few blisters. Smashing, Charlie.
Just another Friday, ay. Thanks dude, as always
Very interesting poem, and image.
There is a futility in seeking meaning, success, and security if one is missing the bigger picture….
Perhaps all such attempts are doomed to fail.
Gravity - is a law of nature.

Thanks Grey, appreciate the meaningful comment. Nail on the head.
I’d refine my comment slightly - I am not meaning one should be pessimistic.
It is those who are misaligned in what they seek who are doomed to failure…
They climb to their objective, but find it lacks foundation.
It is empty of meaning.
If you seek your bearing, and climb towards the correct ultimate summit, in alignment with being itself, then wider perspectives will guide your way.
Nice poem
👍
this is gd excellent.
where have you been?
Mostly in the bushes
Ill never believe.
At least it’s a pretty view
drooling together
That ending hits hard. Getting to the top only to realize the climb ruined everything you were trying to reach for is such a lonely, heavy feeling ✨
It’s a theme I absolutely love to explore. The complete obliteration of desire.
